Case Description
Today I went to the new dental office, since my old dentist has just retired. I was told that I will need at least 4 dental implants. He told me the cost will be at least $5000 each. We have two children and need to save money for their colleges. I have been researching other dentals offices, and found one dental office is offering the dental implant for Limited time offer: $2395. I am skeptical why those costs are so different. I would like to get the specialists opinions. Please help us. Thank you.

When selecting a new doctor, consider the following:
Quality of Explanations: Compare dentist replies. Give preference to well-reasoned, detail-oriented, transparent explanations.
Experience & Qualifications: If a dentist has a practice listing, check their practice description,
special training, typical office procedures and before & after case photographs.
Other Patients' Freedback: If a dentist has reviews, read other patients' reviews. The more
reviews they have, the more likely it is that other patients' feeback is accurate.
Treatment Costs: Dental procedure costs vary from practice to practice and depend on a variety of factors.
Because quality of patient care and treatment results vary from practice to practice most dentists will not "price-match" treatment fees of others.
Implats have two parts: 1- Implant body (Placed by eriodontist) $2500.00 each 2- Crown (Placed by dentist) about 1500.00 eachThey have seperate charge.

Dental Implants can vary in cost depending on complexity, amount of bone present or needed, quality of the materials and what is attached to the implant, ie. crown, bridge or partial attachments. There are usually several options available regarding implants and the treatment can be catered to your budget. My recommendation would be to get a second opinion. Implants can last a lifetime and alot of that depends on the quality of the treatment. Be wary of cheap dentistry! They may be cutting costs somewhere which compromises the quality and longevity of the implants. If you would like, please contact our office for a free consultation where we can discuss implants and the treatment options available to you. Please go to our website for more information about our office at www.popedental.com. You can contact us directly at 925-939-4989. We are located in Walnut Creek.Sincerely,Dr. Scott Pope
Cost Estimate: $1700 for ceramic with gold underneath
Implants are usually done in a two stage procedure. An Oral Surgeon or Periodontist will , after x-rays, models, etc will place the implant and leave a healing post. This remains for several months to allow the bone to intergrate with the implant. Their office will have a charge for this procedure. You,then have a dentist with implant experience take impressions, send these to a lab that also is prepared to make any attachments and fabricate the crown that goes over the implant. Check out my web site : drjpope.com This is also explained there. Please feel free to call and ask questions. A second opinion office visit is for a no charge. 672-7300
