Case Description
I need a root canal in a molar tooth . The costs in San Francisco are around $1400- This seems high for the national rate of $800- $900. I would like a reasonable going rate of a root canal in the general BayArea. The names of some respected places would also be nice.

When selecting a new doctor, consider the following:
Quality of Explanations: Compare dentist replies. Give preference to well-reasoned, detail-oriented, transparent explanations.
Experience & Qualifications: If a dentist has a practice listing, check their practice description,
special training, typical office procedures and before & after case photographs.
Other Patients' Freedback: If a dentist has reviews, read other patients' reviews. The more
reviews they have, the more likely it is that other patients' feeback is accurate.
Treatment Costs: Dental procedure costs vary from practice to practice and depend on a variety of factors.
Because quality of patient care and treatment results vary from practice to practice most dentists will not "price-match" treatment fees of others.

So sorry you need a root canal. The good news is that the alternative to a root canal is extraction so a root canal can save your tooth--in most cases. The quality of root canal treatment affects the longevity of your tooth, the comfort of the procedure, and your experience after the procedure. This is not a procedure to economize on--you want to find yourself the best possible specialist and pay their fair fee.In San Francisco, you are very fortunate to have Dr. Stephen Cohen. Dr. Cohen wrote the definitive textbook on Root Canals that every dentist has to read in dental school. He is extraordinarily knowledgable, an outstanding practitioner and a fine gentleman. In the East Bay, we also have several outstanding practitioners. Dr. Joseph Schulz, Dr. Priya O''''Callahan, Dr. Ali Rezai, and Dr. James Ho. I have worked with all of these specialists and have the utmost confidence in the quality of the work and the comfort of their treatment. The good news is that all of these specialists charge a fair fee that is well worth the quality of their treatment. Wishing you the best of luck in seeking quality, affordable care.Josh Bernstein, DDSwww.allnewsmiles.com

Cost Estimate: $$930 for molar endo.
If Alameda is convenient for you we can provide treatment here. Our fee for molar endodontics is $930. In most cases the tooth will additionally need a build-up and crown to strengthen the tooth upon completion. Endodontic specialty practices will normally be higher fees than a general practitioner. Our practice is a comprehensive general/restorative practice and can provide all those services here.Call us at 510 521-3344 if you have further questions or would like to schedule to see us.Dr. Jim Hinkle DDS MAGD2229 Santa Clara AveAlameda CA 94501
